Mint staking used sMINT certificates before shutdown, while later reward claims remain unconfirmed

Mint staking reward claims remain unconfirmed after shutdown; the remaining withdrawal service does not establish a payout route for unpaid rewards. The former MintPool mechanism paired MINT deposits with sMINT certificates. Mint ceased operations on April 17, 2026, leaving a separate service for selected currency withdrawals.

sMINT holdings and reward eligibility

MintPool associated a MINT deposit through a selected staking node with sMINT certificates that represented the staked tokens. Holding those certificates was the basis for the described staking rewards. A certificate balance and an accumulated reward amount described different parts of the position. Neither figure, on its own, established that a reward had already reached the wallet.

The former dashboard separated sMINT holdings from staked MINT and cumulative earnings. Its ETH reward display distinguished unclaimed from claimed rewards. The activity view had fields for methods, amounts, times and transaction hashes, helping distinguish a deposit from a reward payment. Historical records therefore need their asset and action context before amounts can be combined.

The shutdown boundary

Mint ceased operations on April 17, 2026. The gateway lists ETH, WBTC, USDC and USDT for withdrawal from Mint to Ethereum mainnet. It does not list MINT, sMINT or Mint-eNFT positions. That omission limits what the gateway itself establishes; it does not prove that every possible recovery mechanism is unavailable. A visible staking page also cannot establish that its older transaction functions still execute.

Listed assets must be withdrawn before October 20, 2026; balances left afterward will be unavailable for processing.

MINT rewards and ETH restaking

The former reward model separated MINT staking rewards from ETH revenue sharing through restaking. Each leg had its own eligibility and funding basis.

Reward assets and funding

MINT holder rewards

The staking terms advertised 15% APR in MINT for sMINT holders, with MintDAO funding the reward distribution. APR means annual percentage rate. The quoted figure described a token-denominated reward rate under the former program, whose terms specified annual APR adjustments. It did not specify the amount that any particular address had claimed, and it does not establish continued accrual after shutdown.

ETH revenue sharing

The restaking design converted sMINT into BC721 Mint-eNFT assets. Those holdings participated in a reward allocation drawn from 50% of Mint's net sequencer ETH revenue. The net amount excluded data availability fees and Superchain fees. That allocation was a share of network revenue, not a 50% return on each holder's deposited capital. An individual payout needed its own distribution record.

Other assets in the staking design

MintPool's broader design also described ETH and NFT staking support. The sMINT certificate relationship and quoted MINT rate concerned the MINT deposit path. They did not define the return or withdrawal conditions of every other asset that the protocol described.

Can staking rewards still be claimed after shutdown?

Post-shutdown reward claiming remains unconfirmed for the former MintPool positions.

The earlier staking terms allowed MINT reward claims at any time. That statement belonged to the operating program and cannot establish post-shutdown execution. A historical claim entitlement, a displayed amount and an actual payment are distinct states. Existing records may show that an address participated or previously collected rewards. They cannot by themselves confirm that the same address can submit a fresh claim today.

Mint-eNFT reversion was designed to return sMINT certificates. That conversion did not itself establish receipt of underlying MINT or ETH rewards. ETH rewards already received by your wallet on Mint fall within the currency withdrawal service's listed assets. Unpaid ETH restaking rewards still require settlement before they become a received wallet balance. The gateway does not confirm that reward settlement function or a method of converting MINT rewards into a listed asset.

Decision checklist before authorizing a withdrawal

A withdrawal request requires a balance on Mint in a currency that the remaining service lists. Review the asset, amount and receiving address before authorizing any action. Keep inspection read-only until those details match the intended transfer. Receipt of the selected asset at that address establishes delivery, independently of a promised staking return.

A pending eligible withdrawal requires a follow-up check against the destination transfer. If delivery remains absent beyond the stated estimate, retain the request details for a status inquiry. An unlisted certificate requires a separately established claim route; repeating an unrelated currency withdrawal does not redeem it. After submission, do not assume that the service offers cancellation or reversal.

Withdrawal processing versus reward settlement

Currency withdrawals have a published batching schedule; unresolved staking rewards have no confirmed post-shutdown settlement timetable. Eligible withdrawal requests are processed once a week and typically arrive within 10 days. That estimate concerns the listed currencies, so it cannot supply a waiting period for redeeming sMINT or collecting an unpaid reward. A processing estimate also does not extend the withdrawal deadline.

A withdrawal request and a destination payment record establish different states. A transaction hash identifies a transaction, while its execution result and asset movement show what happened. For a token transfer, the recipient, token contract and transferred quantity need to match the intended payment.

A completed withdrawal of an existing currency balance establishes delivery of that balance. An unresolved staking claim still concerns payment from the former reward mechanism.

Everyday questions about Mint staking

Did selecting a staking node automatically qualify a depositor for operator rewards?

Selecting a staking node did not itself establish eligibility for node operator rewards. The design treated those incentives as a separate MintDAO distribution based on MINT staked with the node. That distribution differed from the rewards associated with holding sMINT certificates.

Were Super Nodes and Base Nodes equally open to operators?

Super Nodes and Base Nodes had different entry conditions in the staking design. Super Nodes initially used reputation assessment, required a MINT stake to run a server and expected active ecosystem contributions. Base Nodes targeted developer organizations and crypto communities with lower entry barriers. Neither description establishes a post-shutdown application route.

When could ETH restaking rewards be withdrawn under the former rules?

The former MintPool rules made restaking rewards available after a 24-hour period. The previous day's ETH profits became claimable starting the next day. That timing described the earlier reward mechanism and does not confirm that the claim function remained usable after shutdown.

Was the sMINT requirement for creating a Mint-eNFT fixed?

The required sMINT amount varied with the bonding curve in the restaking design. It was not a universal deposit amount for every Mint-eNFT. A historical conversion amount cannot establish a current conversion price or the availability of conversion after shutdown.

Does an ETH balance identify a received restaking reward?

An ETH balance alone does not identify where the funds came from. A received restaking payout needs a matching payment record from the relevant reward mechanism. The wallet total can include other receipts, so the reward transfer and the overall balance should remain separate when reconciling past earnings.

Can approving token spending count as receiving old MintPool rewards?

A spending approval alone does not establish receipt of a reward. For ERC-20 tokens, approval gives a designated spender permission to move tokens up to an allowance. It does not itself pay the owner. A payment requires its own asset movement, regardless of the label attached to the approval request.

How should an empty MintPool dashboard be interpreted after shutdown?

An empty MintPool dashboard leaves the historical position unresolved. Blank fields and an empty activity view provide no balance or payment record. Deposit and payout transactions may preserve earlier activity, while the empty display cannot establish either zero earnings or full payment.
